Campaigns

We aim to highlight the benefits of supported housing while engaging with residents and customers on the issues that matter most to them.
Through national campaigns, we strive to create a positive impact and foster inclusivity by raising awareness of the challenges faced by those we support.

Our Campaigns

Time to Talk Day

Held every year in early February, Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation. It’s a day for friends, families, communities, and workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives.

Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week is held every year in mid-May, and is led by the Mental Health Foundation. Care Nest Homes services take part in the campaign to encourage residents and staff to talk about their experiences with mental health. Recent topics have included sleep and body image.

Learning Disability Week

Learning Disability Week is an annual campaign in June led by Mencap. It aims to raise awareness of issues which are important to people with learning disabilities. Recent themes have included life post-Covid, sport and inclusion, and art and creativity.

Starts at Home Day

Starts At Home Day, which is led by the National Housing Federation, is an opportunity to celebrate the importance of supported housing services, like ours. We believe that with the right housing and support in place, the people we support can turn their lives around, make positive changes for the future and feel confident that they can live as independently as possible.

Silver Sunday

Silver Sunday, held on the first Sunday in October, is a national day where people of all generations can come together by hosting fun and free activities for older people. It is a day where older people can meet new people, visit new places, try new activities and connect with their local communities and the generations around them.

World Mental Health Day

The World Federation for Mental Health marks World Mental Health Day on 10 October every year. We believe it’s a great opportunity to raise awareness of mental health problems and start conversations around the importance of good mental health.

World Homelessness Day

World Homeless Day is marked annually around the world on 10 October. It aims to raise awareness of the needs of homeless people and how to help make a difference in the community.

16 Days of Activism

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence begins on 25 November, which is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and also White Ribbon Day, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. It’s an international campaign that aims to raise awareness of, and prevent, violence against women and girls.
Care Nest Homes is proud to be a supporter of the White Ribbon campaign, which aims to engage men and boys to end violence against women and girls.

Ready Steady Grow

In addition to participating in external campaigns, we run our own initiatives to encourage residents to embrace outdoor activities like gardening, aimed at enhancing physical health, boosting mental well-being, and fostering meaningful connections within their services and the local community.

Ready Steady Grow is our annual gardening competition, open to residents across all supported living services and retirement communities. Whether you have access to a communal garden, allotment, or courtyard, this is your chance to impress us by transforming your space into something inspiring. Exciting prizes await the most creative and vibrant entries!
